fall!

growing up in florida i never really got experience real seasons. there's a whole lot of summer and then there is february. and everyone gets all out of sorts at how cold it is. and we mumble things like 'it's fucking florida. why is it so cold?' but now living in the mid atlantic i get to see real seasons happen, and they are beautiful. fall is kind of my favorite because there are so many inexplicable colors and i love the sound of dry leaves under my bike wheels. the air has a certain feel to and everything is starting over. it's really incredible.

this fall i'm playing a couple shows that i'm really excited about. on friday, spet.18th i'm playing a free show at six burner. for thos e of you who don't know, six burner is a super fancy, nice restaurant and i'm really excited to play there. i'm planing on wearing make up and a pretty dress. you can do whatever you, but i'm encouraging fancy attire. besides, isn't it nice to see what your friends look like all dressed up?

a week after that i'm playing a benefit for books on wheels at the camel on sept 24th. virginia is for covers! gull, liza kate, jonathan vassar, david schultz and myself are playing all covers, and it sounds like there are some really great and surprising sings happening. so come hang out and watch some great richmond folks cover great songs.

stay gold and enjoy the weather.

hey friends

i hope everyone had a good week end. i know that i did. i saw some friends that i hadn't seen i while and had a great time.

continuing with the theme of a great time and good friends, i'm going to brookyln tomorrow to see some good friends that i haven't seen in a while and to have a good time. you might be one of them, friends that is, but you could be a good time.

i'm playing a show in williamsburg on wednesday night. and it should be a good time. i believe it's free, but if you want to give me money i'll take it. and exchange said money for a cd.

when i get back to richmond i have a few neat things coming up in september. on august 31st i'm playing a house show at 1500 porter street in southside with a band from portland called here comes a big black cloud. they are awesome!
and with two funerals. also awesome!

on september 19th i'm encouraging everyone to dress super fancy and come to six burner. i'm playing and it's totally free. so be fancy, dress up and come out.

on september 24th is the return of the cover show! this time it's a benefit for books on wheels. if you don't know a lot about them check it out. i'm calling it virginia is for covers. and i'm stoked about it. gull, liza kate, jonathan vasser and david schultz are playing. it should be a great time.

that's all for now.

stay gold,
julie

shows for july

it also happens these shows are the same week as my birthday. so you should come and be nice to me, maybe you can shower me with gifts and compliments, too.

Bloggage

i've recently decided to embrace the internet and all that it has to offer, and apparently it offers a blog. the plan is to post fliers for shows i do, commentary on shows i play and hopefully pictures. i should really take more pictures. and maybe one day if i ever tour or go on wild adventures i'll write about it on here, too.

we'll see.

stay gold.
